RuffiniAndrea is a Researcher of CNR-ISTEC Faenza (RA) – Institute of science and Technology for Ceramics, Bioceramic and Bio-Hybrid Composite Group. Andrea has a degree in Chemistry (Bologna University, 1999), Ph.D. in Chemistry Science (Bologna University, 2004) and he obtained Chemist Profession Qualifying on 2000. Andrea has 18 years of experience in ceramic material science and his main expertise are on research and development of biomaterials for regenerative medicine, focused on chemical synthesis, biomorphic transformations and materials characterization.

He collaborated for several Research Project and Contract in Biomaterial science: 2013-2016, EP SMILEY “Smart nano-structured devices hierarchically assembled by bio-mineralization processes”; 2010-2014, EP OPHIS “Composite phenotypic triggers for bone and cartilage repair”; 2007-2012, NP FIRB “Innovative Materials for the development of articular bio-prosthesis”; 2006-2010, EP TEM-PLANT “New Bio-ceramisation processes applied to vegetable hierarchical structures”; 2011-up today, Scientific Coordinator for chemical and physical characterization services to Finceramica Faenza SpA. He produced over 50 papers published in international journals and book chapters, 3 international patents and over 50 technical and scientific reports and he communicated to over 30 meeting on Biomaterials Science. Andrea was Scientific Responsible of the Chemistry Laboratory of CNR-ISTEC Faenza from 2008 to 2014. He won the “Start Cup 2011 – Il Sole 24 ORE – Area Nord” and “Special Prize of Innovation of Switzerland – Working Capital 2011” with entrepreneurial project BONE-AID.
